B. Processing your personal data

1. Processing of log files

Once we have answered your request to your satisfaction, we will delete your data unless other retention periods (e.g. tax retention periods) prevent this.

3. Career website and job portal

Purpose and form of data processing

We process and use your personal data in our online application system solely for the purposes required to ensure the application process is carried out effectively and correctly. This also applies to data added during the application process, e.g. from queries and subsequently submitted documents. The online application process asks for data required for the online application. The fields provided for this purpose are marked as “required fields”. Additional voluntary information can also be entered in “optional fields”.
Relevant personal data includes the following:

  • Master data (e.g. name, title, academic degree, gender, date and place of birth and nationality, private contact details, marital status, photos, language skills, etc.).
  • Application data (e.g. cover letter and curriculum vitae, references, certificates, etc.).
  • Information on marital status (marriage, registered civil partnership, children), which may indicate sexual orientation if provided as part of your application.
  • Health data (severe disability): you have the opportunity to voluntarily provide particularly sensitive personal data regarding the date of severe disability so that we can ensure that the representative council of employees with disabilities is involved in the selection process.
  • Your registration data (surname, first name, country of residence, email address and password) will be collected for the purpose of providing you with the access data for our career portal.

If you create an individual application profile after successful registration, your registration data will be transferred directly to your application profile, with the exception of the password. You no longer need to enter this information separately. This registration data is regarded as application data in further processing.

When you register, you will be asked to read and accept our terms of use. By accepting, you are agreeing that your application data can be viewed by our recruiters as well as by the personnel managers and, if applicable, by the Works Council. This also means that your application profile can then be considered for vacancies that match your application profile regardless of whether you apply for them. In this case, you would receive a non-binding notification from us.

You have the option of withdrawing your acceptance of the terms of use. In this case, your applicant account will be permanently deleted and all information and active applications will be withdrawn.

In order to make our offers more attractive for future applicants, you can also tell us how you became aware of PowerCo and/or the job offer. This information is, of course, voluntary and has no influence on the application process. However, doing so is a great help to us.

After registration, you have the option of activating the Job Agent. The Job Agent will notify you by email as soon as new jobs are published that meet the criteria you specified in the job search or that have similar criteria to the position for which you activated the Job Agent. This results in the following 2 options for activating the Job Agent:

  1. At the top of your applicant profile (Options > Job Notifications). Here, job notifications can be activated using a self-selected filter.
  2. Job notifications can be activated directly from the job search view using the self-selected filter.

All active Job Agents are listed in your candidate profile under Options > Job Notifications. At this point in the applicant profile, deactivate the Job Agent by clicking on the waste bin icon for the respective entry.

Your data will be encrypted using a suitable method.

On what legal basis do we process your data?
We process your personal data primarily for the purpose of the application process and for hiring decisions on the basis of the first sentence of Section 26(1) of the German Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG). If necessary, we process particularly sensitive personal data to enable us to assess your employability on the basis of Section 22(1) no.1 lit c) of the Federal Data Protection Act.

Who processes my data?
In both the pre-selection and further selection processes, your application will not be checked in an automated manner. The application is viewed and checked by our recruiters and by personnel managers in the relevant department and by Works Council members of our company. This also applies in the event that a staffing requirement matches an existing application profile, insofar as you have created one with us. All persons involved in the processing are specifically bound to confidentiality and keep your data strictly confidential. Your data is stored on servers in Germany. For the proper operation of the career portal, we reserve the right to use service providers in the context of “contract processing”.

Shortly before this deadline expires, you will receive an automated announcement email. Automatic deletion does not take effect if you log into your profile within the 180 days in which you are in an active application process.
You also have the option of independently updating or deleting your data/application profile in the system at any time.
You can withdraw your application at any time and/or deactivate your approvals. This is taken into account in the application process.

General information

We use various cookies on our web pages. Cookies are small files containing configuration information that are saved on your terminal device. Cookies can essentially be divided into three categories. There are cookies that are essential for the functionality of the web page (functional cookies), cookies that make it easier to use a web page and, for example, save your language settings (convenience cookies), and cookies on the basis of which a pseudonymised user profile is created (tracking cookies). Only functional and tracking cookies are used for this career web page.

The processing of the functional cookies is legal in accordance with Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR, as it is necessary to enable your visit to the web page.

Tracking cookies will only be placed on the device if the web page visitor has consented to this (Article 6 (1) (a) GDPR). Consent is given via the cookie banner, which has to be actively clicked.

You can revoke your consent to the data processing described using the listed cookies and tracking tools at any time with future effect by changing your currently defined preferences in our Cookie Consent Manager.

If you are logged into the social network, the provider can directly assign this data to your user account. The respective social media providers may use the data to create use profiles.
PowerCo has no influence on the data collected by the provider and its further processing. The purpose and scope of the data collection and the further processing and use of the data by the providers, as well as your rights and settings options in this regard to protect your privacy, please refer to the privacy policies of the respective provider.
